Raised in Norway, Aud has spent most of her life immersed in fashion. An early childhood interest in fashion history, sketching, designing, and styling has carried throughout her life and work.
Her aesthetic embodies the melding of timeless ease with a distinct modern edge. It juxtaposes sharp with soft, feminine with masculine, and she infuses a touch of whimsical fantasy into everyday reality.
Aud received her BFA in Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris, where she was inspired to combine her love of American casual style with a confident European sensibility.
Early in her career, Aud was a designer at Adrienne Vittadini, with a special focus on Sweaters and Evening Wear, delving deeply into fabric and yarn development with Italian and French mills. She also designed editorial items for Fashion Shows and worked closely with a large sample room.
Later, Aud flourished at LOFT, where she was a Vice President of Design and led the Tops and Dresses design teams for over a decade. Aud helped re-position LOFT as a standalone brand and introduced many growth initiatives such as Lounge, Beach, Baby, and developed what later became Lou and Grey loungewear. She also served as VP of Design at Ann Taylor, bringing a sophisticated new approach to the assortments, before joining Kohl's as VP of Design for four of their Exclusive Brands: Jennifer Lopez, Dana Buchman, Fila Sport and Elle.
Aud then joined Banana Republic where she was responsible for all Woven categories and was instrumental in rejuvenating the brand while bringing new silhouettes and strategies to widen the customer base. As Creative Director at Coldwater Creek, Aud modernized the heritage brand before helping to successfully launch the wellness brand Haven Well Within.
Aud has a background in the Fine Arts and is an accomplished oil painter. She is highly proficient at trend and color forecasting and is especially adept at global fabric and yarn development. Her love of travel coupled with a curious and inquisitive nature is reflected in always looking for what is next.
